God calls us to walk in his light through living a life that allows us be in his light. This means we have to strive to live a life that is sin free and for those times that we can't, we need to seek His forgiveness, accept His grace, and get right back on our feet seeking His will for our lives. Only by allowing God can anything happen and it isn't because of what we do but because of what God is able to do through us. Only a pure vessel can channel God's love and power. In the words of Bruce Lee, "Be like water and conform to whatever the water is poured into." If we have expectations and try to do it our way, we will not allow God to mold us but will be our vision of what God has planned.
